Jufas Street Session foi o 1˚ campeonato de skate realizado na Pista Rusivel Silva Costa, em Juiz de Fora – Minas Gerais. O evento nasceu da necessidade cultural da cidade em ter um campeonato, algo que não acontecia há tempos.
Jufas Street Session was the first skateboarding championship held at Pista Rusivel Silva Costa in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. The event arose from the city's cultural need for a championship, something that hadn't happened in a long time.
A identidade visual surgiu com o objetivo de dar destaque na cena local, já que os campeonatos da região não costumam investir tanto em design e branding. O resultado final incorporou a famosa Capivara, símbolo da cidade e sinônimo de ocupação dos espaços urbanos, assim como fazem os skatistas juizforanos. A proposta nasceu da simplicidade, mas ganhou força com cores vibrantes inspiradas no logo da Associação Juiz-forana de Skate, que há décadas atua à frente da cena na cidade.
A tipografia reflete a estética das ruas, inspirada no pixo e em suas formas orgânicas, uma causalidade diretamente ligada ao skate de rua. Já o padrão visual trouxe capivaras e formas pontiagudas, equilibrando seriedade e acessibilidade para o campeonato.
The visual identity emerged with the goal of highlighting the local scene, as regional championships don't typically invest heavily in design and branding. The final result incorporated the famous capybara, a symbol of the city and synonymous with the occupation of urban spaces, much like the skaters of Juiz de Fora. The concept was born from simplicity but gained strength with vibrant colors inspired by the logo of the Juiz de Fora Skate Association, which has been at the forefront of the city's scene for decades.
The typography reflects the aesthetics of the streets, inspired by graffiti and its organic shapes, a causality directly linked to street skateboarding. The visual pattern featured capybaras and pointed shapes, balancing seriousness and accessibility for the championship.
Durante o desenvolvimento da identidade, houve um forte envolvimento com o material impresso, já que campeonatos têm grande demanda nesse sentido. Foram criados lambe-lambes, adesivos distribuídos entre o público, cheques de premiação e, principalmente, os troféus.
No skate, os adesivos têm valor cultural: representam uma forma de troca afetiva entre skatistas de diferentes regiões. O cheque, clássico nos esportes, não poderia faltar no Jufas Street Session, ele simbolizou a seriedade da premiação e materializou a conquista do skatista de forma física e afetiva.
Já o troféu seguiu uma linha minimalista, mas carregado de significado. Ele resgata toda a energia vivida no dia 17 de agosto, reforçando a conquista e trazendo à tona a trajetória de cada skatista: seus acertos, tombos, cicatrizes e aprendizados.
In skateboarding, stickers have cultural value: they represent a form of emotional exchange between skaters from different regions. The check, a classic in the sport, was a must-see at the Jufas Street Session; it symbolized the seriousness of the award ceremony and embodied the skater's achievement in both a physical and emotional way.
The trophy, meanwhile, followed a minimalist design yet was imbued with meaning. It captures all the energy experienced on August 17th, reinforcing the achievement and highlighting each skater's journey: their successes, falls, scars, and lessons learned.
O dia 17 de agosto entrou para a história. Na contramão das grandes engrenagens do sistema esportivo, o Jufas Street Session proporcionou um momento de memória, coletividade e parceria. E ficou no ar a frase mais repetida entre todos:
“Quando será o próximo?”

August 17th made history. Contrary to the larger gears of the sports system, the Jufas Street Session provided a moment of remembrance, community, and partnership. And the most repeated phrase among everyone remained:
"When's the next one?"
